THE ROARING TWENTIES
My mum was on her way out one afternoon. She doesn’t really have a reason to leave. I asked her and she said she was off to vote. Vote? Women can’t vote. Thoughts ran through my head. I asked myself, “Why is she going to vote? Are women able to vote now? Is this a new thing?” I asked why she was off to vote, as I was bit skeptical. She responded, telling me that Congress had passed a new law allowing women to vote. I was ecstatic when I heard this. She had left- to go vote. I sat at home and wondered what life would be like to vote, once I got older of course. I also wonder what other laws congress will pass. Maybe us women would finally have more freedom instead of staying at home and cooking and cleaning.
